Happy colleagues, happy customers!

This week we launched the EFQ – our annual employee survey where colleagues are given the opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions on how they feel about working at Vanquis and as part of the Provident Financial Group.

This feedback helps identify key areas of focus as well as highlighting areas of success and what we do well for colleagues. Ultimately, happy, motivated and engaged employees are key to our ongoing success – increased productivity and a better experience for our customers. 

Last year’s survey showed some extremely positive results, including these seven key strengths:

  • Customer Service 
  • People & Culture 
  • Equality & Diversity 
  • Aims & Objectives 
  • Job Satisfaction 
  • Management 
  • Learning & Development 

Of course, there were also some key areas for improvement which the results highlighted. In response to this, colleagues from all offices, levels and roles set up three work streams (led by our Chief Information Officer, Conor Breslin) to start making tangible recommendations and improvements.

We’re really proud of all the changes that have been made since the previous survey, to name a few:

  • We’ve improved transparency in career development by making progression routes in departments much clearer and embedding job families in areas – particularly within our Analyst community. This has made a huge difference so is being rolled out across other areas of the business.
  • A brand new recognition programme is in the pipeline and coming very soon!
  • An internal portal called ‘Advance@Vanquis’ has been set up by colleagues in Operations to share career progression stories with the wider business – how they got to where they are, how Vanquis enabled them to do so and top tips for those wanting to develop.
  • We’re now using Yammer and other Microsoft Office 365 tools to improve collaboration across the bank. We’ve set up some ‘Yammer Time’ sessions – a new, quick way for colleagues to interact and discuss topics with others across all locations in the business for a set period of time. One session saw a total of 17,218 read messages, 767 liked messages and 359 posted messages. A definite success!

We’re looking forward to seeing how our 2018 results compare to last year and continue to make changes to improve colleague experience here at Vanquis.
